Denmark, a place that I would be so glad to visit. For the moment, it's enough for me to begin to know its unsigned musicians. Let's go...

Atoi - Favourite track: Once upon a time
What a great band. Complete, adult, various but endowed with a really personal and well characterized sound. Mad and funny. How crazy are them to use fluts in a song like this one I chose... and to use them so tastely! Really a good start for this tracklist...

Tomult - Favourite track: 3am phonecall
During a heavy sleep, or during a thoughtful dark night, a phone rings and breaks the silence. What will happen then? Listen to this song and you'll see it. Tunes from the other world, noises and hisses, recurring melodies that sometimes taste of arabesque. Pure oneirism.

Death Valley Sleepers - Favourite track: Hey messy queen
I would never have thought that this band could be made of a single man. This "Hey messy queen" is a bomb! Eighties' breath, no doubt... Look at the good friends of Tobias that stare at you in the friends' space: My Bloody Valentines, the Velvet's banana, Jesus (with Mary Chains), Andy's platinum hair... and many others 80's monsters (and some spiritual sons of theirs...). Tobias is a really talented guy: everything you hear in his songs is (well) played by him, and all these songs in the space are really nice. I think we'll hear about him in the future.

Euzen - Favourite track: More from more
Hypermusic from the North... Hyper-elaborated electronics and sometimes filtered, sometimes naked voices. Efterklang (they're from Denmark, of course) and Bjork. Hi-fi emotions.

Birdie-bird makes little Norm cry - Favourite track: The driveby moment
Dreams among Northern industries, frozen smog, circular vibes, dawns and echoes... All of this obtained mixing "vintage electronic" sounds. I already love little Norm (or the birdie bird, who knows!). Look outside through this lysergic 4 minutes long piece of ice.

Jeremy Sparrow - Favourite track: Suburb
Here it is Tobias' hands on another talented guy. I've listened to Tobias's "Death Valley Sleepers" (see above) only 2 hours ago, but I can already recognize his touch. And a light eighties' influence seems to fit perfectly to Jeremy's music. Great guitars, great voice, a right (and rich) arrangement for a really interesting project. Intelligent Pop Music.
PS: this night I'm paying attention to the artists' friends: What a joy for me to see, among Jeremy's ones, Jason Molina's Magnolia Electric Co. and the mythical label "Secretly Canadian"!

Astrid Engberg - Favourite song: Leaving town
A sweet, jazzy voice for a sweet and soft, peaceful music. Voice, piano, contrabass and light electronics. Astrid, try to add another instrument (only one) on your songs! I hope you won't worry for this little suggestion from an unknown man... :)

Limboasyoulikeit - Favourite track: Suburbian at ppappas office
Dance with your nightmares. A perfect soundtrack for those days when madness seems to win against sanity. Laser shots, distorted cries and everything is needed in order to put a pinch of "artistic darkness" on the dancefloor. Sounds from Limbo.

Thomas Solgaard - Favourite track: For Jane
This post is gonna end with a home recorded pearl from a really young guy (as the photo seems to suggest...).  Piano, trumpet, bass, noises & percussions, all of this played by him. Rough recordings, rough arrangements, insecure playing (not so much, as well), but talent and inspiration that flow and are clearly distinguishable. If you want another example of this, listen to "Imaginary boy": seeds of future that will surely spring up, in my opinion.

If Denmark resembles its artists, well, it must be a beautiful place...
