Contro
The are labels and names that are created with special intentions. In this case, I am speaking about Controrecords. The word 'contro' in Italian means against or sometimes versus. It is clear that by calling themselves in this fashion that one should not expect them to represent cheap, repetious music which is such and intregal part of the music scene at the moment.
Controrecords, a small record company based in Turin, has a unique way of doing business. They have formed a sort of cooperative that represents not only a group of various artists who not only help eachother out but actully work together to create music of quality. A rarity these days in the modern record company world.
Wheter it be the rafined sounds of Davide Tosches, the desperate outcry of Stefano Amen or the deep "in your soul" blues of Salvo Ruolo the sound of quality rings as clear as a bell. So check out Controrecords' up coming new releases or you'll be missing out on some very projects of excellence.
Stay tuned.

Sorry, no Dub!
Dubby Dub: is a group that aims a virtual semi automatic straight in your face with no warning.
The suffering voice of Andrea Pulga leads you through a sound experience rooted in the 90’s but yet flexible enough to adhere to other musical sounds without the trappings of classic banality.
It’s the kind of magical musical journey starting with The International Noise Conspiracy reaching the heights of Queens of The Stone Age while passing through Dinosaur Jr.
A true rollercoaster ride of “bad to the bone” rock tracks that keep you glued to your seat ('Love kills' is a perfect example). 'Space Control' seems to have a Melvins garage riff and in 'Flipper' you can find out a touch of The Hives .
The word “boring” doesn’t even enter the mind. If you are searching for dub you’ll soon realized that you’ve knocked on the wrong door but give the guys a break just the same. I promise they’ll memorize you
Stay tuned!

Music for Everyone’s Tastes
One of the things that I understand very little about because I am probably turning into a grumpy old man, is the need to place labels and define every kind of music nowadays.
Press releases of CDs have become frightening to read because instead of speaking truly about newly released music and its emotional impact on the listener, all that music critics really ever do now is to classify bands according to who they sound like.
That is why a creation like Popper from the group Forensick is so refreshing.
Finally, I am happy to say there exists a band that knows how to perform great music without taking themselves too seriously and you can be sure that their musical talent is not based on a common and aseptic label, but by the quality of their tracks.
Songs like ‘Nicky’, ‘Del Fare’ e ‘Facile’ are only three excellent examples which go to show that: heart, soul and ideas really matter in making good music. So, let’s leave those boring “sounds like” lists to those “o so” boring individuals.
Stay tuned!
