The human melody
Sometimes we listen to music as a distraction, other times to relax and other times for an emotional high. An emotionally connection is generally what we are all looking for. Since we state that life can be sufficiently monotonous at times, we can be very demanding from what we listen to. But being demanding is ill fated because it can cause us to make a cruel discovery that not even music can wake us up from our dullness. When we are crushed by commitments (mostly useless and misleading) and there never seems to be enough time for anything and we have no choice but to keep running. Matters must be taken in our own hands.
The piece that you are listening to is pure live improv. The artist‘s name is Sawako and her artistic activities take place between Tokyo and New York passing through thousands of other places and cities.
The quiet, small, intimate melodies mix with the confusion of screaming children, distant adult voices that are chased by urban noise... When the noise takes over the melody, our egos seem to vanish. Perhaps our souls just disappear, swallowed by modernity, by necessity, by pressing commitments, by the rat race that never stops.
But in the end, that small and minimal melody is brought back to life by the ringing church bells which accompany us on our way home.
Despite the efforts that our journey costs us, we are still and will always be human beings.
