Winning combination!

Some weeks ago I gave ospitality in my radio program (http://www.sherwood.it/-Alta-fedelta-)  to an amazing band called Speedy Peones.

A great and funny  chance to listen to something so far from usual music labels and to speak about new albums and plans.

Nattering with Nicola (Speedy’s singer) I discovered the existence of an incredible split on a long play record involving Speedy Peones and Kelvin, produced by Macina Dischi, an indie Italian label.

Two of the more transversal and wrong-footing band playing in Padua meet each other (or crash, choose the  word you prefer) in seven tracks, one of which played together.

If you can think about a blind meeting between Naked City, Mr Bungle and Talking Heads you’re near Speedy Peones music (‘Vultures’), while Anna and Woolter (Kelvin’s drums and guitar) with a noisy approach tests musical lands well-beloved by Steve Albini and by Ian MacKaye (‘If I had an exorcism’).

‘My body is a jerk’, Men's Recovery Project’s song,  is the summa of two bands musical attitude: Speedy and Kelvin play together in an involving divertissement.

If you don’t live in Italy or if you live in Italy but you missed all the live gigs of these two bands, it’s time to repair…Chicago and Washington are very close.

Cheers
