Winning combination!
Some weeks ago I gave ospitality in my radio program (http://www.sherwood.
A great and funny chance to listen to something so far from usual music labels and to speak about new albums and plans.
Nattering with Nicola (Speedy’s singer) I discovered the existence of an incredible split on a long play record involving Speedy Peones and Kelvin, produced by Macina Dischi, an indie Italian label.
Two of the more transversal and wrong-footing band playing in Padua meet each other (or crash, choose the word you prefer) in seven tracks, one of which played together.
If you can think about a blind meeting between Naked City, Mr Bungle and Talking Heads you’re near Speedy Peones music (‘Vultures’), while Anna and Woolter (Kelvin’s drums and guitar) with a noisy approach tests musical lands well-beloved by Steve Albini and by Ian MacKaye (‘If I had an exorcism’).
‘My body is a jerk’, Men's Recovery Project’s song, is the summa of two bands musical attitude: Speedy and Kelvin play together in an involving divertissement.
If you don’t live in Italy or if you live in Italy but you missed all the live gigs of these two bands, it’s time to repair…Chicago and Washington are very close.
Cheers

The toxic feeling of a tidy guy
When a Mexican net-label meets a Newyorkese artist, the outcomes aren't (they could never be) discounted...
And so - wondered and surprised - we present you an excerpt from Toxic Feelings, Tidy Kid's last work, shared under a Creative Commons license by Umor Rex.
Tidy Kid is an histrionic and well, really "untidy" artist. To realize that, just jump and visit his myspace page. Through the cover notes of his many works or looking at pictures and videos, you'll be immediately sucked into a kaleidoscopic whirl.
At this point - as always - someone might ask me to write a real review of this EP. But a fully fledged review wouldn't be a good thing. Only a few rambling words can tell something about the toxic feeling of a tidy guy.
So, let's now focus on these few, essential words, trying to tweak them in a creative way:
toxic
tidy
hump
really awesome
toy plane
yes baby yes (appreciable, strong statement)
dumpty kid?
stolen mother, desperate daughter
New Ideas
experimental idm music and more
More words comin 'soon... Now, sadly, I must stop and return to my tidy (literally) work.
All the best and enjoy,
Carlo Trevisan
PS: Toxic Feelings is released under a Creative Commons Licence
PS2: today I didn't spend many words about Umor Rex, but just visit their wonderful artists' repertoire. It's really worth a look and soon we'll give it an in-depth look.

NIMM: not only pop!!!
NIMM: behind a strange acronym (but are you sure that’s an acronym?) a great band hides an extraordinary character.
‘Generazione uno’ is the new album of this band ‘living on the edge’(I hope you like cool quotations) between two Italian regions: Veneto and Friuli, and, as the great wine you can find in this piece of Italy, the ten tracks of this album come down quickly to your soul and leave an unstoppable wish in your head to listen again....
As they like to explain to everyone who wants to know more about their music: NIMM: not only pop!!!
So you can find in this music casket called Generazione Uno, a dark rock song like ‘Spegni la tv’ or a melancholic ballad like ‘Oceanica’ trough the easy-going title track, whose video you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?
If you like pop, but you’re looking for something more satisfying, the right answer for you is NIMM,
don’t forget it.
Stay tuned!!!
